Mercy Triumphs over Judgment
Judging Others:
1. By Appearance
God want's everyone to love him, and every one to come to the truth which is Jesus Christ, In these summerized verses, God calles the Minorities, the Different, the hated, the servants.... Check em out...
• Mat 25:31-40 – The hungry the thirsty, the stranger, those inadequately clothed, the sick, the prisoners all should be attended to as if they were Jesus himself..:
• Luke 7:36-50 – Woman sinner, rather than the self-righteous Pharisee, was commended
• Luke 10:30-37 – a religiously despised Samaritan, rather than a religious Jew, was the hero who rescued a half-dead Jew
• Luke 21:1-4 - the poor widow's small donation was of greater value than the rich men's large donations
• John 17: 22 - Jesus' followers received from Jesus the glory God gave to Jesus
• John 17:-23 - God loves Jesus' followers as he loves Jesus
• Acts ..10: 34, 35 –in every nation anyone who fears God and does what is right is acceptable to him.
• Acts 17:24, 26 – God made from one the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth
• 1Co 12:12-26 – Jews, Greeks, slaves, free people, all members of the church body are all vital to the entire church body of Christ.
• Gal 3:28 – labels of Jew, Greek, slave, free, male, female do not apply to God's people.
• Eph 2:11-22, the uncircumcised and the circumcised all are part of the same sacred temple/body.
• Col 3:11 Labels of Greek, Jew, circumcised, uncircumcised, barbarian, savage (Scythian), slave, free do not apply to God's people
• 1 Ti 2:1-4 – God desires everyone to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
• Rev 14:6 – every nation, tribe, tongue, and people are called to worship God.
• Rev 22:2 – God provides healing for every nation
It doesn't matter who you are, what your body looks like, what your skin color is, what nation you are from, what your financial status is, if you are a sinner, or even of a different religion, God calls all of us to know him and worship him.
2. Hypocrisy
Let's take a look at John Chapter 8 starting with the first verse.
1But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. 3The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. Jesus was teaching and the Teachers of the Law and the Pharisees interrupted him. I don't know about you, but when my Sunday School Class gets interrupted, I get a little upset, and I am sure they didn't come in saying "knock, knock excuse me sir", they probably were loud and demanding.
They made her stand before the group 4and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" If you want to know more about Moses' Law check it out in Leviticus. 6They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. It is really sad that one they had to embarrass this woman with her sin in front of a whole group, while trying to trick Jesus so they could accuse him.
But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. What could he be writing? Could it be that he was writing down their sin? What was he writing? Whatever it was it must have been intimidating. Because … well let me read…
9At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:1-5, "Do not Judge or you too will be judged for in the same way you judge others you will be judged and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of saw dust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother let me take the speck out of your eye when all the time there is a plank in your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye."
When these men saw this woman in sin, they were quick to condemn her. They were going to stone her! Clearly these men who were accusing this woman were not without sin, If they didn't have sin they would have thrown the stone… but… NO one threw the stone.
3 Or Christian Correction.
10Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"
11"No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
Jesus could have thrown a stone, he was with out sin, and he confronted her and asked her to correct the behavior. It says in Galatians 6:1
"My brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should restore him gently; but watch yourselves, or you also will be tempted"
We as Christians should not Judge others, but we should hold each other accountable for our actions.
It also says in Matthew 18:15-17 "If your brother sins against you go to him and show his fault. But do it privately just between yourselves. If he listens to you, you have won your brother back. But if he will not listen to you, take one or two other persons with you so that 'every accusation may be upheld by the testimony of two or more witnesses,' as the scripture says. And if he will not listen to them, then tell the whole thing to the church. Finally, if he will not listen to the church treat him as though he were a pagan or a tax collector."
4 Forgiveness and Mercy
Jesus was merciful and he didn't throw the stone, it says to "Speak and act as a people who will be judged by the law that sets us free. For God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment." James 2:12, 13.
We need to confront those who have sinned against us and we also need to do it with love. We need to stand by those who are struggling and give them resources for help. We also need to forgive them for their sins like it says in Luke 17:3,4 " If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. If he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times comes back to you and says, ' I repent,' forgive him."
Correction is needed, in our faith to become righteous in God's eyes. It is necessary for us to look at our own lives and correct ourselves with help from fellow Salvationists and always God. We need to keep in mind forgiveness and mercy and encouragement. Let's leave the Judging to those appointed

4 Forgiveness and Mercy
